this was just released by bbc: (such a good decision by gap!)

US clothes retailer Gap has scrapped a new logo just one week after its introduction following an "outpouring of comments" online.

The original logo, which has used been used for more than 20 years, has a blue box with "GAP" written in white inside.

The new logo on the website had "Gap" written in black against a light background with a small blue square laid over the top of the letter "p".

But critics attacked the rebranding on social networks and online forums.

More than 2,000 comments were posted on the company's Facebook page on the issue, with many demanding the return of the traditional logo.

In a statement released on the Gap website, Mark Hansen, president of Gap Brand North America, said the company's customers always came first.

"We've been listening to and watching all of the comments this past week. We heard them say over and over again they are passionate about our blue box logo, and they want it back.

"So we've made the decision to do just that - we will bring it back across all channels."

He added that it was clear the retailer "did not go about this in the right way" and "missed the opportunity to engage with the online community".

"There may be a time to evolve our logo, but if and when that time comes, we'll handle it in a different way," he said.

well, it's officially fall here in warsaw. cold weather, rainy days, and i swear the leaves are going to start changing soon. i couldn't be more grateful for my hunters. i'm wearing an angora sweater right now with leggings and i couldn't be more cold. unfortunately, in poland, they don't turn on the heat until mid-october... ah! not excited to have to wait that long. i mean, we're not freezing, it's just cold.. we're still above zero C. :)
even though it's cold here, this weekend was absolutely beautiful. it was nice to have such gorgeous weather over the weekend to be fully appreciated, when all last week was rain rain rain rainnnn. i just wish i had a fireplace in my apartment. love love fireplaces.
this week, for me, is a 3 day week! yay! i took off thursday and friday, as i'm flying to the netherlands for a few days. dutch boy is out there right now, and i'll be joining him for the 2nd half of his trip. excited to see a new country. i still cannot get over the fact that i've never been to the netherlands!

summer isn't over yet, although i know it will be soon. i am not looking forward to a 7 month winter, but there are a few things i am looking forward to.
ski season, and this year i'm sure there will be a few trips to switzerland, along with going back to courchevel. i am very much looking forward to my birthday this year as well... going to oktoberfest! celebrating in true form! last time i went to oktoberfest, sept 07, i also celebrated my birthday there, but i also had one crazy trip, all emotions happened! looking forward to spending it with a few good friends and a few many beers. also looking to rome in october, possibly, and my wonderful foxy hat.

but before i get too ahead of myself, i still have a few more weekends of swimming at the lake, short dresses and sexy heels, sitting on my balcony after work enjoying a glass of wine watching the sunset, sitting outside and people watching, beautiful cars cruising around and convertible tops.
going to soak up as much as possible! continuing this weekend with a wonderful home cooked meal from dutch boy, and a day at the lake.

well, this has been one amazing week. last i said, the guy from the plane (we'll call him dutch boy), asked for my number. since then, we've seen each other a few times, and it's been absolute bliss.
anyways, during the weekend, i flew to paris to see my sister. had a wonderful weekend with her! it was too short, but very sweet. (window) shopping around, drinking wine and champagne, the smell of lavender everywhere, a ghost tour, dancing under the eiffel tower, and ending up with friends at baron. followed by a wonderful croissant breakfast on the way to the airport.
arriving in warsaw, dutch boy was standing there waiting for me at the airport :)

when i lived in parma, 4 years ago, i literally felt like i was living in a dream. everything happening day to day was perfect. i was constantly traveling to rome, orvieto, paris, london, and warsaw. i had a few very good friends in parma, and had a pretty great job. i even had a boyfriend on top of it all. the dream continued when i moved out of parma to rome. even including the fact that my boyfriend had completely lied to me and told me he had broken up with that girl.
going back to parma this past weekend, reminded me of all the fantastic times i had there. from arriving at the airport in milano, driving down to parma, with a few maserati's flying past me on the autostrade, to getting off the exit for parma, parking the car behind via farini, then seeing m for the first time in over a year, everything came rushing back to me. at dinner time, walking to my favorite restaurant, ombre rosso, passing by all the bars on via farini, and seeing all of my old friends, all of them embracing me fully asking me to join them for a drink, but having to go to dinner first as all i could dream of was my tortelli d'erbata with parmgiano, and bruschetta and a wonderful glass of sangria (it was too hot for a glass of red wine). walking into ombre rosso, the owner, (i still to this day never caught his name when we were first introduced, 4 years ago...) he looked up as m and i walked in, walked out from behind the bar, and just came up to me and hugged me! asked what in gods name i was doing in parma, and if i had moved back! amazing how he completely remembered me... well, i was in his restaurant just about every week for a year!
as the weekend kept on going, it just kept getting better and better. to the very minute that i walked out of the airport in warsaw. i had met this extremely handsome man on the plane. he was sitting next to me, naturally, and we spoke the entire flight. luckily our flight was an hour late even, so we had more to chat. as we walked into baggage claim, he asked for my number...

well, as i didn't go to paris last weekend due to a work event, i postponed my trip to go in 2 weeks. instead of strolling around paris, croissant and lavender in hand, i went to a lake, did a little shopping and a few too many errands. overall it was a productive weekend. minus one mishap that really ruined the 2nd half of the weekend for me, it was a good friday and saturday though! ha. it's been super, super hot here, getting up to 37 C in the shade. being at work in the 'a/c' isn't really the most fun thing to do.
well this weekend i'm heading off to parma! yay finally! i booked this flight back in march, or so, and because of the ash i had to change my flight. i picked a random weekend during the summer, and that weekend is here! very much so excited to get there. looking forward to: scrumptious prosciutto, parmgiano, tortelli d'erbata at ombre rosso, vino rosso at il tabarro and malve. take a drive down the road to my old apartment, enjoy many laughs with marilia, marco and stefano, brush up on my italian, and just enjoy a wonderful time in italia.

so far summer has been pretty amazing! other than the fact that the weather has been co-operating very well, i have not seen the sun too much. this weekend though, a few of my friends and i are heading up to zegrze (a lake about 30km north of warsaw), to go sailing and hang out in the sun! (tan included). i'm super excited to not be sitting in an office, staring at my computer screen, straining my eyes, and every once in a while, looking out the window to see the beautiful blue sky and sun shining in. exercise is what i like... not sitting on my butt! anyways. here are a few pics of the summer so far, including swimming in the living room, picnic next to the river and lots of balloons.
next week i'm off to paris! really looking forward, since it's been 9 months since i was last there! ahh too long!

happy first day of summer!
well, i've been back in warsaw now for almost less than two weeks and it's been one crazy ride. not only did i just get a job so i've been working my butt off and loving every minute of it, but i've also had a crazy social life with the world cup going on and catching up with friends!
since i've been quite busy, i haven't had time to make my summer plans yet.. unfortunately. but i do have in mind where i'll be heading back to...paris, london, parma, and hopefully ibiza too.

well, it's finally time. for over a year i have had this weekend planned, and have been looking forward to it for almost 2 years. my good friend is getting married and i'm one of her bridesmaids! i met d 5 years ago in good ole london town. she was the first person i met - we were flatmates. d and i did everything together - had the same classes, took trips, and well, pretty much spent all of our time together. when we left london town it was really hard, but since she went to college close by to me (a wonderful 6 hr drive) we knew we would be seeing each other as often as we could. 5 years later, here we are. i'm flying to knoxville tomorrow to kick off a wonderful wedding weekend!

it's now thursday and i still have my tan. :) last weekend i took a spontaneous trip to barcelona with my girlfriends. not only was the weather perfect (27 degrees C and not a cloud in sight), but we sat on the beach for three days, ate delicious food, and saw some amazing sights. for us, coming from the frigid winter in warsaw, we all arrived looking as ghosts and left looking as tomato's!
the last time i was in barcelona was five years ago. it was great to see new things and remember the memories i had from the previous visit.

a major tragedy

what a whirlwind of events. i don't even know where to start. i guess the most incredible and by far most important is the death of our president of poland, lech kaczynski and the many many elite military and political figures as well. the feeling here in warsaw is sad. no one is really smiling, everyone is quiet, people are just getting on with their lives with the constant thought 'wow, i can't believe he's dead and he's gone, and how did this happen?' last night i went to the president's palace to see the scene. i happened to leave my house at the perfect time, as there was a march walking down nowy swiat, the main road in warsaw, towards the palace. to be involved in that was incredible. everyone silent, holding candles, flowers and pictures of the dead. its such a sad feeling, but amazing to see everyone in the country holding together and showing our pride of the country. it's truly beautiful.

the past few days have been pretty in the dumps. not 24/7, just random things that have either been making me stress, ticking me off, or not going the way i would prefer it. today i decided to do a little retail therapy :) i ended up only buying just a few things, but they are the perfect add to my wardrobe. the perfect spring touch, to be continued all summer and even into fall. what more could a girl ask for? (i know plenty more....that's a whole other topic...). i strolled into my favorite store, massimo dutti, and picked up a super cute silk t-shirt dress, a pair of grey-nude pumps and a pair of dark blue moccasins. really, i would have take the whole store, it's just ya know, the end of the month, so i couldn't swing it, unfortunately. :(

well, that was a fantastic weekend, correction, long weekend. because the skiing conditions were so perfect we decided to stay an extra day and make fresh tracks down the ski slopes. it was crazy how much snow just kept falling! as soon as we arrived in zakopane at 10 in the morning, with maybe 2-3 hours of sleep, we went straight to the slopes.
we might be hitting the mountains again this weekend. really hope so! it's supposed to be warm there too, so great for spring skiing :)

woohoo! it's finally the weekend! this has been one looooong week. didn't know so many things could happen in one week. good and bad. as a reward of getting through the week, i am heading to zakopane (pronounced zak-o-pany), in the south of poland, for a weekend filled with skiing, drinking, partying, hiking, and lot's of fun! i'm so excited to get out of warsaw. my friends and i are taking the night train, leaving after midnight, and arriving in the morning to zakopane. there has been a huge snow storm there all week, well for more than a week, so there's ton of snow for skiing and snow fun! the snow storm is coming up to warsaw this weekend, so i'm super excited not to be in the city when that happens. so sick of snow, but in the country side it's so much better.
well, i wish you all a very nice weekend, enjoy the coming of spring where ever you may be, and catch ya all on the flip side!

first off, sorry for not posting for a while. i was off in courchevel, france skiing for a week. it was one amazing trip. had such a great time with my brother and sister. just a sibling trip :) every moment was unforgettable. from the moment we arrived, literally moment, to the second we left. great times indeed. fantastic fresh powder, great sun, cloudy days (unfortunately), to the apres ski, great food, delicious fresh croissants, and tasty wine (and vodka).

the snow is still falling here. i don't think it will ever stop. it's pretty though. nice to see the city all white. i'm hoping that since it's been such a hard winter, that the summer will be super hot! you know to make up for last summer, the summer that never existed!
on saturday i'm off to go skiing for a week with my brother and sister. super excited since the 3 of us have never been away together, just the 3 of us. there have always been friends, family, girlfriends/boyfriends joining us as well. we're off to courchevel, france. i've never been skiing in france, so it'll be a new experience.

well, this has been one fun week/end. i actually am trying to remember what happened last sunday, monday, tuesday, wednesday, and i can't remember.... but i know something happened! ah, loss of short term memory.

thursday though, was fat thursday, otherwise known as pączek day. pączek are polish doughnuts. they are so delicious with jelly on the inside and goodness all around! so i ate pączek all day while watching the snow fall. thursday night we started the celebration of my friend bern's birthday. danced until 4am. then friday had such an amazing night. dinner for 30 at a great 'new' restaurant. free flowing alcohol, food galore, tons of laughs, presents, and smiles all around the table. singing too! sometime on saturday, we all realized that no matter what time one went home to sleep, we were still in major pain on saturday, and still a little on sunday! we had such a great time! dancing, partying, laughing, celebrating! good memories! happy birthday bern!

as i was flipping through site after site to find a great bridesmaid dress for my good friend danielle's wedding in may, i found this dress. it's so pretty. i wish i had an event to wear it to, because i just want it! and if i remember correctly, it wasn't even so expensive. (i can't remember who designed it...will get back to you on that one.) actually to tell you the truth, this is something along the lines of what i want for my very own special event. hehe :)
